 TAMWORTH LIONS DO IT AGAIN!

Tamworth Lions have just held their 35th Annual Charter, and again organised a lunch at Lee Marston Hotel, rather than an evening event.
President Trisha Lambert  said “ We ran our Charter celebration as a lunch last year, and following many positive comments, we decided to organise the event as a lunch again this year.”
 
Guests included Lions District Governor Beryl Roberts and husband Eric, Tamworth Borough Councillors Maureen and Kenneth Gant, Soroptomists President Jacqueline Edwards, and husband Keith, and Lions from near and far, and not least, Tamworth’s Leo President, Emma Lynch, as well as family and friends of Tamworth Lions.

District Governor Beryl then made a surprise presentation to MC, Lion Geoff. Trevena of a Melvin Jones Fellowship – an award presented by Lions, in recognition of a high level of commitment to Lions and Lions projects – for once, Geoff was momentarily speechless, and then found the words to thank all of his fellow Tamworth Lions for the award, and District Governor Beryl for presenting the award and plaque. [Photo 2]
